XXL x US Army: 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop

As Hip-Hop celebrated its 50th revolution around the sun, what began as beats echoing through the walls of a humble rec room at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in The Bronx has transcended borders to become a global phenomenon. It has dominated not just music but also fashion and art, shaping the very fabric of pop culture.

In this milestone moment, I had the honor of spearheading an artful collaboration and crafting a 5-minute cinematic masterpiece.

Our mission: to chronicle the remarkable journey of SSG Riddick and SSG Feemster, trailblazers who etched their names in history as the first official rappers of the U.S. Army Field Band.

Through the lens of cinema, we delved into their unwavering devotion to Hip-Hop, unraveling how they seamlessly blend their passion with their newfound roles in the Armed Forces, emblematic of the dynamic nature of today's military landscape.

ROLE: Art direction, concepting, design, pre-production, intra-production, post-production.
